TETON VILLAGE, WY - A
number of exciting new things are happening this winter at Jackson Hole
Mountain Resort (JHMR). From new flights to make it easier to get there,
to a new lift to make it easier to access intermediate terrain, Jackson
adds easy ways to get your fill of this outstanding mountain. Real
cowboys, herds of elk and an occasional moose help you to get a great
experience in a unique western town. The ski/snowboard resort is located
in Teton Village, a scenic, easy 12 mile ride from the town of Jackson,
with an extensive bus service to ease transportation around the area.

New All Blue - Introducing an Entirely New Intermediate Experience
In a move to continue to
broaden the appeal of Jackson Hole, a new, high speed, four passenger
detachable chair has been installed in the mid mountain area of the resort
known as Casper. Along with the new lift, the Casper intermediate trail
network received extensive summer grooming which expanded and improved
this classic blue terrain, bringing a whole new experience to this
amazing, previously underutilized, area of the mountain.
The new
Casper Quad is part of a series of capital improvements for the
intermediate destination skier and rider. To help broaden the appeal, and
the trails, the resort added and upgraded with a larger snowcat fleet and
expanded snowmaking acreage and capacity. To celebrate this new
experience, Casper Restaurant, a popular spot for visiting families and
groups, has introduced an entirely new menu including gourmet hot
sandwiches, made to order tacos and a Margarita Bar.
The
new high-speed, detachable, Casper Quad replaces a fixed grip triple lift
and reduces the previous 10- to 12-minute ride to less than four minutes.
The uphill capacity is increased from 1,185 people per hour to 2,000 per
hour, and a re-alignment also increases the vertical of the lift by four
feet. In an area of the mountain where lift lines were rare, this will
virtually eliminate any possibility of a line for your family and friends
except for odd occasions.

The
Snow Really Is Bigger and Better
Last year Jackson Hole, in the drought winter of 2011-12, received nearly 400 inches of snowfall by closing day, more snow than any other resort in the Rockies and California. Jackson received snow in early October and then benefited from significant storm cycles in late December, January and February. The upper elevations of the mountain had enough natural snow for good skiing and their snowmaking improvements enabled their guests to access Mother Nature's best. The entire resort was open from early December through April. By March 2012, Jackson was one of the few resorts with average snow depths remaining and Spring skiing was among the most spectacular in the country.
