BASE DEPTH REPORTING - Western resorts vary on the location of their snow reporting devices, some at the summit, some at mid-mountain. Here is what you need to know: a 30" to 40" base will provide great skiing on groomed runs; with a 50" to 60" base you can enjoy about 80% of the mountain. A base of 70" or more and you can explore the entire mountain comfortably. Most western resorts are reporting 60" to 70+ inches. Go and enjoy safely!

Drive carefully, bring chains and safely enjoy the mountains in winter conditions.
